Claylands Nursery is located on the West of Edinburgh close to Edinburgh Airport and the Newbridge roundabout. It is near Ratho, Wilkieston, Kirknewton, East and Mid Calder, Livingston, Kirkliston, Winchburgh, South Queensferry, Newbridge, Gyle, Currie, Uphall and Broxburn.  The location of the nursery can be found HERE. Claylands Nursery is in a highly secure and tranquil countryside setting, well away from roads, fumes or houses, set in extensive secure paddocks and gardens for the children to enjoy.  This bright Nursery incorporates all the most important, up-to-date equipment and facilities for Babies, Toddlers and Pre-School.

The Nursery is located on a non-working farm in beautifully refurbished farm steadings. We keep small animals for the children to care for. The children are outside as much as possible, taking advantage of the space, freedom and countryside environment. There are separate baby and older children's gardens, with hard areas for gross motor skills as well as high quality equipment to encourage imaginitive and physical play. The older children are able to use the garden as an extension of the nursery playroom, taking their activities outside and choosing where they wish to play. An enormous amount of reputable research shows that unrestricted outdoor play in a natural environment is one of the most important ways a child learns; at Claylands we are unique in having the facilities to embrace this philosophy .

We have a dedicted mini-beast garden, a composting garden, our pet rabbit and our family of chickens, as well as many wild birds and squirrels, who the children encourage by feeding them daily.

Attention has been paid to the natural environment, with as many natural materials used as possible in the building's construction and the equipment we have to offer. The Nursery is a real home from home, with a family feeling.
